Moves Psychic is Meowstic-F's strongest STAB move, hitting popular Fighting- and Poison-types such as Monferno and Muk for a lot of damage. Hidden Power Fighting helps Meowstic-F hit Dark- and Steel-types, such as Pawniard and Probopass, for super effective damage. Shadow Ball allows it to hit Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Misdreavus, Dusclops, and Grumpig for super effective damage. Thunder Wave can be used to slow down threats such as Floatzel and Regice and prevents Meowstic-F from being a setup fodder against these Pokemon. Substitute can also be used to dodge status from Pokemon such as Grumpig and Sucker Punch from Pawniard and Mightyena. Set Details Maximum Speed and Special Attack EVs with a Timid Nature allow Meowstic-F to hit as hard as it can while outspeeding Pokemon such as Simipour, Dodrio, and Ninetales. Life Orb allows Meowstic-F to hit harder with all of its attacking moves at the cost of some of its health. The ability Competitive is needed, as it is Meowstic-F's only niche and will give it a +2 Special Attack boost whenever one of its stats gets lowered. Usage Tips Meowstic-F works best switching into Defog, which gives it a +2 Special Attack boost and allows it to hit very hard after. Try not to switch Meowstic into anything except Defog, as it is frail and won't take an attack well. Meowstic-F can also be used as a late-game cleaner if the opponent does not have a Defog user, but it needs faster Pokemon such as Zebstrika gone and special walls such as Lickilicky weakened. However, if the opponent does have a Defog user, it is best to use Meowstic-F as a wallbreaker once it gets the Competitive boost mid-game. Team Options Entry hazard setters such as Venipede, Crustle, and Smeargle are also good partners, as they can set up entry hazards and force the foe to use Defog, which Meowstic-F can switch into to get a free +2 Special Attack boost. Entry hazard support also helps to weaken Meowstic-F's counters. Meowstic-F should only be used on entry hazard-reliant teams, as its ability discourages the use of the move Defog, which is an annoyance for these teams. Because of its lack of bulk, Meowstic-F needs free switches in, which can be provided by slow U-turn or Volt Switch users such as Pelipper or Probopass. Other Options Toxic is a useful move to cripple special walls such as Audino more easily. Thunderbolt could be used to hit Water-types such as Pelipper for super effective damage. Calm Mind allows Meowstic-F to boost its damage output without relying on the foe to use Defog. Checks and Counters Special Walls: Special walls such as Audino, Clefairy, and Zweilous can switch into any move that Meowstic-F carries and proceed to do whatever they want. However, they have to be careful about switching in if Meowstic-F has gained a Competitive boost, as they risk being 2HKOed after just a little prior damage. Dark-types: Dark-types check Meowstic-F very well because they can switch into its STAB move and hit Meowstic-F for super effective damage. Pawniard can trap Meowstic-F with Pursuit, set up a Swords Dance on the switch, or anticipate a Hidden Power Fighting and use Sucker Punch on Meowstic-F. Faster Pokemon: Faster Pokemon such as Rapidash and Ninjask can easily revenge kill Meowstic-F because of its lack of bulk. Residual Damage: Because of its vulnerability to entry hazards, status, and Life Orb recoil, Meowstic-F gets worn down very quickly. Residual damage also helps in getting Meowstic-F revenge killed by priority users.
