Moves U-turn allows Furret to gain fast momentum and get off slight chip damage against Pokemon such as Monferno and Dusknoir, which can take other hits from it. Double-Edge is Furret's strongest STAB move and can deal a lot of damage to neutral targets, but it inflicts recoil in return. Alternatively, Return can be used to avoid recoil, but it is weaker. Knock Off allows Furret to take on Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL, as well as cripple bulkier foes such as Torkoal and Tangela. Trick allows Furret to cripple bulkier Pokemon such as Tangela and Clefairy by forcing them to be locked into a single move. Alternatively, Brick Break allows Furret to hit Steel- and Rock-types such as Probopass, Pawniard, and Golem. Set Details Maximum Speed investment along with a Jolly nature and a Choice Scarf allows Furret to be as fast as possible, outspeeding Pokemon such as Ninjask and Zebstrika. With maximum Attack investment, Furret can hit as hard as possible, being able to OHKO Pokemon such as Raichu with Double-Edge. Frisk is Furret's most useful ability, allowing it to scout out what item its foe has. Usage Tips Due to its high Speed with a Choice Scarf, Furret should be used to revenge kill weaker Pokemon. Double-Edge should be Furret's main attacking move, as it is its strongest, though Furret should be wary of recoil. Furret should not be switched into strong attacks, as it is very frail and takes a lot of damage from even neutral attacks. Furret can switch into Ghost-type attacks from Pokemon such as Misdreavus, but it should be wary of Will-O-Wisp. If the foe has a Pokemon that can take hits from Furret, such as Torkoal, it should use U-turn in order to gain momentum and switch into a Pokemon more suitable for dealing with the foe. U-turn can also be used to avoid Ghost-, Rock-, and Steel-types while not having to predict an opposing switch. If Furret no longer needs the Speed boost from its Choice Scarf, it can cripple bulkier Pokemon such as Audino and Gourgeist-XL with Trick. Team Options Furret best fits on offensive teams for its ability to revenge kill faster foes and cripple bulkier foes with Trick. Furret appreciates Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes support from Pokemon such as Gabite, Probopass, and Roselia, which can help to rack up extra damage on its foes. Pokemon with access to Volt Switch and U-turn such as Zebstrika and Ninjask can form a VoltTurn core with Furret, which allows it to constantly keep up momentum, while slower Pokemon with Volt Switch or U-turn such as Probopass and Pelipper are also helpful to get Furret in safely and without it taking unnecessary damage. Pokemon such as Relicanth appreciate Knock Off support from Furret in order to beat Pokemon such as Tangela and Clefairy, respectively. Pokemon that can take on Fighting-types, such as Clefairy and Pelipper, are helpful to Furret, as that is its only weakness. Rapid Spinners and Defoggers are helpful to Furret in order to prevent it from being worn down quickly. Slower teams appreciate Furret's revenge killing capabilities in order to take on the metagame's faster Pokemon, such as Zebstrika and Jumpluff. Furret appreciates wallbreakers such as Grumpig, which can weaken foes to the point where Furret can revenge kill them.

If at all possible, have Furret Trick its Choice item onto something like Musharna or Tangela so that it can say that it did something in battle. Failing that, the best thing that Furret has going for it is that it is very fast, meaning if the opposing team is weak enough, it can clean up late-game with its Choice Band-boosted attacks. Base 76 Attack is wholly unimpressive, though. It's too bad Team Preview exists in BW, making scouting not very important at all this generation. U-turn can still be fun to knock around Musharna and Tangela while bringing in something like Skuntank or Cacturne, but a quick U-turn isn't as desirable as it used to be. Aqua Tail is there for Golem, or if that isn't a concern, Shadow Claw can annoy Misdreavus a bit.

Due to Furret's lacking base stats, utilizing a Choice item is the best bet it has in playing an offensive role on any UU team, as the boosts granted are absolutely necessary in order to allow Furret to present any kind of offensive threat whatsoever. By using a Choice Scarf, Furret becomes a great scout courtesy of its access to U-turn; also, by using a Choice Scarf, Furret functions nicely as a revenge killer due to its passable Speed stat and nice coverage among its attacking options. However, with a Choice Band, Furret becomes a decent late-game wallbreaker as it can abuse its respectable base 76 Attack stat and decent attacking options, as well as shutting down defensive cores through Tricking a Choice Band onto a wall such as Chansey. The given EVs are quite straightforward. They are designed to maximize Furret's offensive capabilities by maximizing Attack and Speed while chucking the leftovers in HP. Trick is utterly necessary on this set as it allows Furret to shut down defensive Pokemon such as Registeel which hate being locked into a single move; Return is a reliable STAB attack, while Brick Break is chosen for coverage purposes. The choice for the last move depends on your personal preference, as although Shadow Claw and Sucker Punch help considerably with Furret's move coverage, U-turn in combination with a Choice Scarf makes Furret a great scout Pokemon. Since it is evident that Furret will struggle against bulky opponents such as Uxie and Regirock due to its lackluster base Attack stat even with a Choice Band, Pokemon that can counter or remove them would prove to be excellent partners to Furret. Also, as bulky Psychic-types will be problematic for Furret locked into anything but Shadow Claw--which, even so, barely 3HKOes the standard support Uxie--it may be wise to pack a strong Pursuit user on your team, such as Absol or Spiritomb. Lastly, setup sweepers such as Swellow are great offensive partners to Furret, as they take advantage of the holes Furret creates in the opposing team, as well as the offensive momentum Furret builds up.

Give it your best shot; this is Furret's attempt at Reversaling. There are so many Pokemon that this is better suited for... such as a Pokemon with STAB on Reversal.

This is about all Furret can do; it has a limited (usable) movepool. Use your Choice Band to wreck havoc with Double-Edge / Return and Focus Punch, and eventually Trick your physical wall of choice. Quick Attack can go here if you need something to finish off Pokemon that attempt to sweep with a Salac Berry.

Start setting up and Rest when you get low on health. Though it's unlikely Furret will survive through the setup, if it does, you can start sweeping with Double-Edge and/or Shadow Ball.
