With Guts, Ursaluna becomes an insanely threatening Pokemon capable of OHKOing a great portion of the metagame upon activation of its Flame Orb. Toxic Orb may alternatively be used to deal with Pokemon that learn Trick such as Cresselia. After being burned, Facade is able to muscle through Pokemon that would otherwise deal with Choice Band Ursaluna such as Kee Berry Cresselia and is capable of OHKOing many frail Pokemon such as Sylveon. Headlong Rush threatens KOs on Pokemon such as Skeledirge and Pecharunt. Avalanche allows Ursaluna to respond to opposing Ground- and Dragon-type Pokemon that would get the first strike, being able to OHKO threats like Choice Band Landorus-T and Choice Scarf Haxorus. Swords Dance allows Ursaluna to boost itself in matchups where it cannot immediately threaten a KO, overwhelming threats that focus on boosting themselves such as Iron Crown. Taunt may be used to shut down matchups that could otherwise outplay Guts Ursaluna, such as against SubSeed Whimsicott. The bulk EVs are used to survive Modest Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam without a boosting item and Choice Band Landorus-T's Hammer Arm. The rest of the EVs maximize Ursaluna's Attack. While Guts Ursaluna has the ability to switch moves and disrupt defensive threats like Iron Crown, the lack of immediate firepower that Choice Band would grant can cause Ursaluna to lose some matchups like against slower non-Custap Berry Primarina.

Earthquake is for Raging Bolt, Iron Crown, and non-Air Balloon Pecharunt. Giga Impact is used for Choice Scarf Porygon-Z and non-Choice Band Azumarill. Avalanche targets Landorus, Landorus-T, and Garchomp. Gunk Shot is for Sylveon and Azumarill, while Low Kick is the best move against opposing Ursaluna, Ursaluna-B, and Air Balloon Heatran. Bulletproof helps against Choice Specs Iron Valiant and some Hoopa-U sets, while Guts helps against Will-O-Wisp users like Volcarona, Spectrier, and Weakness Policy + Will-O-Wisp Dragapult. The HP and Defense EVs allow Ursaluna to survive Hammer Arm from Choice Band Landorus-T, while the Special Defense EVs allow it to take Hyper Beam from Life Orb Sylveon. The remaining EVs are put in Attack. Choice Band Ursaluna should click the most damaging move against its foe unless multiple moves OHKO, in which case it is best to click the most accurate of said choices. Against Substitute users like Volcarona, it is usually better to use Earthquake to avoid a recharge turn with Giga Impact.

Ursaluna is the metagame's premier Trick Room sweeper. Crunch lets Ursaluna pressure Giratina without fear of being PP stalled. Alternatively, Fire Punch can be used to 2HKO Skarmory and Corviknight, which wall it otherwise. Substitute takes advantage of passive walls like Giratina, Blissey, and Quagsire while also forcing Sucker Punch Kingambit into a guessing game that favors Ursaluna. Minimum Speed investment lets Ursaluna move before a greater range of foes in Trick Room. Tera Normal boosts Facade to the point of OHKOing offensive Great Tusk and maximum HP Arceus formes. Tera Ghost can be utilized to turn Ursaluna's disadvantageous matchups against Zamazenta-C and Skarmory on their heads, though this compromises its matchups against Kingambit and defensive Arceus-Dark. Ursaluna's paltry Speed necessitates Trick Room support from setters such as Magearna, Solgaleo, and Dialga. Kingambit, another staple on Trick Room teams, greatly appreciates having many of its checks, such as Zacian, Zamazenta-C, and Will-O-Wisp users, dealt with by Ursaluna.

Thanks to its high Attack, respectable bulk, and its ability Guts, Ursaluna can be a devastating threat under Trick Room. It threatens huge damage with Guts-boosted STAB moves. Its slow Speed makes it move before most Pokemon under Trick Room while also Speed tying with minimum Speed Calyrex-I. Facade works in tandem with Flame Orb and Guts to dish out large amounts of damage. Earthquake is a powerful spread move, dealing a lot of consistent damage against both opponents. Swords Dance helps offset Attack drops by Intimidate. Holding a Flame Orb helps it activate Guts, enabling it to sweep in Trick Room while gaining immunity to Spore from Amoonguss. Tera Ghost makes Ursaluna immune to Fake Out from Pokemon like Incineroar and Rillaboom and Fighting-type moves from Koraidon, Urshifu-R, and Zamazenta-C while getting rid of its weakness to Glacial Lance from Calyrex-I. Ursaluna struggles against Intimidate users like Incineroar, as Intimidate reduces its Guts-boosted Attack. Because Ursaluna takes burn damage every turn, foes can utilize Protect to put it in range of attacks or KO it if it's at low HP without risking any damage. Tera Ghost Incineroar has Fake Out, Intimidate, and Parting Shot and is immune to Facade and neutral to Headlong Rush. Focus Sash Urshifu-S is also a good Ursaluna answer, surviving a hit and firing off a Close Combat or Wicked Blow if Ursaluna has Terastallized Ghost. Meanwhile, Calyrex-I can Speed tie Ursaluna and 2HKO it with Glacial Lance. Lunala functions particularly well with Ursaluna because it has access to Trick Room and Wide Guard to block Glacial Lance while also providing a means to remove Ghost-type Pokemon from the field with its STAB moves. Other good partners for Ursaluna are Farigiraf and Indeedee-F, with both being able to set up Trick Room while blocking priority moves with Armor Tail and Psychic Surge, respectively. Calyrex-I can set up Trick Room and also does damage with its Ice- and Ground-type coverage to punish switch-ins and OHKO Amoonguss and Rillaboom and 2HKO Ghost-types like Calyrex-S. Amoonguss is also a good partner, healing Ursaluna with Pollen Puff, being able to redirect attacks with Rage Powder, and putting opponents to sleep.

Facade and Headlong Rush are used as the strongest attacks available to Ursaluna. Earthquake is used as a strong spread damage option and to bypass Follow Me from opposing Ogerpon formes. Swords Dance can also be used to punish passive play and to reverse some of the effects from Intimidate, but this forces Ursaluna to give up one of its Ground-type moves. The EV spread allows Ursaluna to survive Moonblast from Choice Specs Tera Fairy Flutter Mane, Blood Moon from Life Orb Ursaluna-B, and Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-W, all after burn damage. The rest of the EVs are invested into Attack. The alternative EV spread allows Ursaluna to outspeed Adamant Chien-Pao and the Ogerpon formes in Tailwind while still surviving Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-W and Make It Rain from Gholdengo. Tera Ghost is used to give Ursaluna an immunity to Fighting-type attacks but more importantly Fake Out, removing a key method to stalling out Ursaluna's Trick Room turns. Tera Dragon Ursaluna forgoes the Fighting-type and Fake Out immunity for greater defensive utility into Rillaboom, Urshifu-R, and the Ogerpon formes.

Ursaluna is a destructively powerful Trick Room attacker that doesn't fear Amoonguss's Spore. It takes advantage of Guts, Flame Orb, and Facade to delete bulky foes like Garchomp, Rillaboom, and Hatterene. Earthquake is a powerful spread move that threatens both foes, bypassing redirection, but it requires teammates to either be immune to Ground or use Protect in order for it to be used safely. Meanwhile, Substitute takes advantage of foes that try and use Protect to passively let Ursaluna wear itself out with burn chip damage and stall out Trick Room turns; it will also block Intimidate once it has been set up. Flame Orb activates Guts and boosts the power of Facade. One side benefit of getting burned is that Ursaluna won't be put to sleep by Amoonguss's Spore and Vivillon's Sleep Powder. Tera Ghost allows Ursaluna to become immune to Fighting-type attacks and Fake Out; the latter is important because it would otherwise deny Ursaluna from attacking in Trick Room. Tera Fairy also sheds Ursaluna's weakness to Fighting while letting it beat Dragon-types like Dragapult and Archaludon. Tera Normal powers up Facade even further, allowing it to turn 2HKOs or unfavorable OHKO chances on the likes of Amoonguss, Electabuzz, Clefable, Ursaluna, and Ursaluna-B into guaranteed OHKOs. The given EV spread allows Ursaluna to survive a Life Orb Ursaluna-B's Blood Moon, a +1 Draco Meteor from Archaludon, or a Make it Rain from Choice Specs Gholdengo and the burn damage right after while maximizing its Attack.

Set Details Ursaluna is one of the strongest non-Restricted physical sweepers in Regulation I, as it has an enormous Attack stat further bolstered by its ability. Ursaluna finds its place in the metagame as a powerful physical wallbreaker that is able to sweep under Trick Room. With its powerful STAB moves, it is able to OHKO many important Pokemon in the format, such as Miraidon, Koraidon, and Rillaboom, while outspeeding them under Trick Room. While Ursaluna is burned, and with maximum Attack and a Brave nature, Facade picks up OHKOs on almost all Koraidon, Miraidon, and Rillaboom, and it can OHKO Ho-Oh with a high roll. It can also 2HKO Calyrex-I and Iron Hands. Ursaluna's HP EVs are optimized to reduce burn chip damage. The Defense investment gives it a high chance to live Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R, and the remaining EVs in Special Defense give Ursaluna a high chance to avoid the 2HKO from Tera Stellar Terapagos-S's Tera Starstorm with two turns of burn damage. Headlong Rush and Earthquake are strong Ground-type STAB moves that allow Ursaluna to hit Ghost- and Steel-types that it struggles to hit with Facade. Although Headlong Rush makes Ursaluna more vulnerable to foes' attacks, it's necessary to pick up OHKOs on Calyrex-S and Iron Hands. Earthquake is a powerful spread option, doing significant damage to Miraidon and Koraidon, OHKOing Miraidon without Tera Fairy and Tera Fire Koraidon, while ignoring redirection from foes like the Ogerpon formes and Brute Bonnet. Earthquake does have the downside of hitting Ursaluna's ally, but this can be worked around with partners like Ho-Oh and Wide Guard Lunala. Protect is an essential move on Ursaluna, with its main use being to stall a turn to allow Flame Orb to activate. Protect can also let Ursaluna stay safe while a partner sets up Trick Room. Tera Ghost allows Ursaluna to avoid Fake Out from Rillaboom, Iron Hands, and Incineroar. It also protects Ursaluna from Fighting-type moves, such as Koraidon and Urshifu-R's Close Combat as well as Low Kick from Iron Hands. The main reason to run Tera Fairy is to give Ursaluna the advantage against Choice-locked Miraidon. Ursaluna's natural Ground typing stops Miraidon's Electric-type moves, and Tera Fairy blocks Draco Meteor. This means that Miraidon can only use Dazzling Gleam, which can not OHKO Ursaluna, while Facade OHKOes Miraidon back. Teambuilding The Urshifu formes, Koraidon, Zamazenta-C, and Iron Hands all pressure Ursaluna with powerful Fighting-type STAB moves, and Rillaboom and Calyrex-I also threaten OHKOs on Ursaluna. With minimum Speed, Ursaluna has to play around Speed ties with common threats like Iron Hands and Calyrex-I. Incineroar, when using Tera Bug or Ghost, can easily weaken Ursaluna with Intimidate and Parting Shot. As a physical attacker, Ursaluna can be severely weakened by Reflect from Grimmsnarl. Since Ursaluna's main role is as a sweeper, having its damage reduced makes it much more vulnerable to losing damage trades and having its Trick Room stalled out, especially against Pokemon like Iron Hands, Miraidon, and opposing Ursaluna. Ursaluna has a strong typing in the Regulation I metagame, with immunities to the main STAB moves of Miraidon, Calyrex-S, and Lunala, making it easier for Ursaluna to remove these Restricted Pokemon that can be very threatening for two of Ursaluna's best Restricted partners, Ho-Oh and Lunala. Miraidon also appreciates the wallbreaking power of Ursaluna, as it can quickly remove Rillaboom and Iron Hands, two Pokemon that Miraidon has a hard time KOing. Pivot moves used by Incineroar, Miraidon, and Urshifu-R allow Ursaluna to enter the field before the end of a turn, activating Flame Orb immediately without needing to stall a turn with Protect. Miraidon is able to threaten many of the Fighting-types that check Ursaluna with its Electro Drift and Dazzling Gleam while being able to pivot with Volt Switch. With help from Incineroar's Intimidate, Ursaluna can survive Urshifu-R's Close Combat and Iron Hands's Low Kick, and Parting Shot makes Incineroar a good slow pivot that can weaken a threatening target and switch in Ursaluna without taking any damage and with Flame Orb activated. Speed control options like Lunala's Trick Room and sometimes Ho-Oh's Tailwind set Ursaluna up to sweep through teams without having to worry about being KOed before taking KOs itself. Lunala's Moongeist Beam and Moonblast can threaten the Fighting- and Ghost-types that Ursaluna struggles with offensively and defensively. Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire threatens Calyrex-I and Rillaboom, and Wide Guard from Lunala protects Ursaluna from Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance. Urshifu-R is a good counter to Incineroar, which is otherwise a problem for Ursaluna.

Swords Dance Ursaluna is a powerful wallbreaker for Normal teams, as its ability Guts paired with a Flame Orb makes its already-high Attack go even higher. At +2 with a burn from Flame Orb, Facade can annihilate even the bulkiest of Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Galarian Weezing, and Gliscor. After a boost, Earthquake breaks through Steel- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Gholdengo, Archaludon and, non-Air Balloon Heatran. Drain Punch is a great form of recovery that can provide a bit more longevity to Ursaluna. Alternatively, Fire Punch can be used to immediately KO Pokemon such as Corviknight, Skarmory, and Scizor. With 252 Speed EV's, Ursaluna can outspeed Azumarill and hit them hard with STAB Earthquake or Facade. Hisuian Zoroark is an excellent teammate to pair with Ursaluna with its signature ability Illusion and Ghost typing , baiting Fighting-type moves and hitting back or spreading status with Will-O-Wisp. Ursaluna can take advantage of Hisuian Zoroark's ability by making the fot switch out and hitting the foe with a powerful STAB move after Flame Orb activates. Hisuian Zoroark has the capability to pivot as well when disguised as Ursaluna. Blissey is an excellent teammate to pair with Ursaluna, as it can take damage from special attackers such as Latios and use support moves like Thunder Wave and Stealth Rock. Also, Blissey can use Healing Wish to return Ursaluna to full health and activate Flame Orb again. Choice Scarf Indeedee can help remove Fighting-type Pokemon such as non-Choice Scarf Iron Valiant, Urshifu-R, and Great Tusk with Terrain-boosted Expanding Force, prevent Bisharp and Weavile from using priority moves like Sucker Punch and Ice Shard with Psychic Terrain and provide Healing Wish support for Ursaluna. Braviary is a bulky Flying-type that pairs well with Ursaluna, as it can provide Defog support and hit additional Fighting- and Grass-types such as Sneasler, Gallade, and the Ogerpon formes. It also provides pivoting with U-turn, switching out and allowing Ursaluna to come in and annihilate. Smeargle is also a great teammate for Ursaluna, as its range of support moves like Sticky Web and Spore can lower a foe's Speed or put it to sleep so Ursaluna can set up safely.

Ursaluna can run a set with Bulk Up and Leftovers to become an offensive powerhouse without prioritizing a status-inducing orb, allowing it to maintain longevity. Earthquake is a powerful STAB move that is able to remove Steel- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Ninetales and Gholdengo while also hitting Sableye on Dark teams. Drain Punch not only provides recovery to Ursaluna but also lets it check Dark- and Normal-types like Ting-Lu and Blissey, and it deals great damage to Air Balloon Heatran after a boost. With 16 Attack EVs, unboosted Ursaluna can remove Landorus with Ice Punch while also taking out Dragon- and Ground-types such as Garchomp, Gliscor, and Latios. 88 Speed EVs and 156 Special Defense EVs allow Ursaluna to both outspeed base 60 Speed Pokemon such as Hisuian Goodra and Porygon2 and take a hit from Life Orb-boosted Landorus.The secondary EV spread provides exceptional bulk for Ursaluna to set up on walls and survive unboosted attacks from the likes of Gholdengo and Choice Specs Latios. Blissey and Braviary are phenomenal defensive teammates, as Blissey can set up entry hazards, spread status with Thunder Wave, and sponge special attacks with its great Special Defense. Braviary, with exceptional bulk, can handle physical attackers while having the ability to remove hazards with Defog and bring Ursaluna in with its U-turn. Hisuian Zoroark can make use of its ability, Illusion, and disguise itself as Ursaluna to lure in Ground-immune Pokemon like Latios and Skarmory. Terapagos can provide a form of hazard removal for Ursaluna while also being able to hit Flying-types like Gliscor and Corviknight with its coverage moves. Ditto is also a great teammate for Ursaluna, as it can take advantage of opposing setup sweepers by turning the tables on them. Porygon2 is another great defensive teammate alongside Ursaluna due to it being able to use Eviolite on top of already phenomenal bulk. Indeedee-M can run Healing Wish to recover Ursaluna's health if it gets worn down.

Ursaluna uses Flame Orb in conjunction with Guts and Facade to OHKO or nearly OHKO the majority of Pokemon in the metagame with Facade. The burn also stops other disruptive status such as sleep from Amoonguss's Spore. Headlong Rush hits Steel-, Rock-, and Ghost-types such as Gholdengo, Kingambit, and Diancie that resist or are immune to Ursaluna's Facade, with Earthquake essentially doing the same thing and providing Ursaluna a way to deal spread damage. Earthquake, unlike Headlong Rush, also ignores redirection moves like Follow Me and Rage Powder from the likes of Indeedee-F, Ogerpon, and Amoonguss. The Brave nature and 0 Speed IVs let Ursaluna be incredibly slow so it can utilize Trick Room as much as possible, allowing Ursaluna to move before threats such as Rillaboom, Kyurem, and Tyranitar and Speed tie with other slow Trick Room threats such as Diancie, some variants of Iron Hands, Kingambit, and opposing Ursaluna. Ursaluna can also be used alongside Tailwind. Doing so requires an Adamant nature and moving 164 EVs from HP into Speed. This allows Ursaluna to outspeed key threats such as Ogerpon-W and Landorus in Tailwind. Teams that do utilize Tailwind with Ursaluna typically also run Trick Room as well because even with Tailwind and Speed investment, Ursaluna would still be quite slow. The HP and Special Defense investment are for maximizing bulk, allowing Ursaluna to live Ogerpon-W's Ivy Cudgel, Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash, and Gholdengo's +2 Make It Rain. Tera Ghost removes Ursaluna's initial weaknesses Grass- and Water-type attacks, grants it an immunity to Fighting-type attacks from Iron Hands, Diancie, and Okidogi, and gives it an immunity to Fake Out from the likes of Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Iron Hands. Tera Normal bolsters Facade to ungodly levels of power, achieving OHKOs on opposing Ursaluna and Iron Hands while removing Ursaluna's weakness to Grass-type attacks from Rillaboom, Ogerpon, and Sinistcha as well as Ogerpon-W's Ivy Cudgel. Due to its low Speed, Ursaluna can become prey to much faster threats such as Chien-Pao, Rillaboom, and Ogerpon-W, so it is advised to use Ursaluna alongside a Trick Room or Tailwind setter to give Ursaluna the Speed advantage so it can launch its deadly STAB moves. Redirection from Indeedee-F and Sinistcha can also help Ursaluna, redirecting attacks from Ursaluna's aforementioned checks and keeping it safe, giving it the opportunity to activate Guts. Flying-type or Levitate teammates Like Tornadus and Bronzong are also good partners for Ursaluna, being immune to Earthquake that would hurt them heavily otherwise and following that with more spread damage or Trick Room. Trick Room setters like Indeedee-F, Sinistcha, Bronzong, and Cresselia help give Ursaluna and themselves the Speed advantage; Indeedee-F and Sinistcha provide redirection via Follow Me and Rage Powder, respectively, while Sinistcha, Bronzong, and Cresselia can manage Ursaluna's Earthquake. Ursaluna also appreciates Indeedee-F's ability to block priority moves like Grassy Glide from Rillaboom and Fake Out. Other Trick Room teammates like Torkoal appreciate Ursaluna's ability to threaten to OHKO Incineroar, Raging Bolt, Diancie, Rain Dance Tornadus, and Ogerpon-W after Terastallization, all of which Torkoal would otherwise have issues breaking through.

Thanks to Guts and its already high base 140 Attack, Ursaluna is an incredibly powerful wallbreaker capable of breaking walls such as Slowbro and Ferrothorn while also using its incredible bulk to live a hit from offensive Pokemon such as Great Tusk and Mega Scizor, often trading for them entirely. Facade combos excellently with Guts and can 2HKO even the bulkiest of physical walls such as Dondozo and Great Tusk. Headlong Rush allows Ursaluna to guarantee an OHKO on Melmetal and Pecharunt unboosted, but Earthquake can be used instead to avoid defense drops, allowing it to stay on the field for longer and trade out more Pokemon. Fire Punch fills in the holes in Ursaluna's already incredible coverage by hitting Corviknight, Skarmory, and Air Balloon Gholdengo as well as immediately threatening Ferrothorn. An Adamant Nature is typically preferred to maximize damage, but a Jolly Nature can be run instead to outspeed Pokemon such as uninvested Moltres and Adamant Kingambit. While niche, an alternate EV spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def with a Brave Nature can also be run on dedicated Trick Room teams to allow Ursaluna to move before the majority of the meta; however, this is not common due to Trick Room teams being unreliable. Ursaluna is an excellent choice for many bulky offense and hyper offense teams that appreciate its ability to smash through opposing defensive structures. Fast Pokemon such as Zamazenta, Tapu Koko, and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R can revenge kill Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Ogerpon-W for Ursaluna and make up for its low Speed stat. In return, Ursaluna can make use of the pivoting provided by Tapu Koko and Urshifu-R to break through their checks such as Toxapex, Slowbro, and Ferrothorn so they can clean up late game. On bulkier structures, Alomomola is a particularly good teammate, as it can not only safely bring in Ursaluna with its slow Flip Turn but also keep Ursaluna healthy throughout the game with Wish, which is helpful because Ursaluna is quickly chipped by hazards, contact punishment from the likes of Rocky Helmet Landorus-T and Ferrothorn, and its own burn damage. On hyper offense teams, Ursaluna can break defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Alomomola, and Ting-Lu to allow teammates, such as Iron Valiant and Dragonite, to sweep more easily. Additionally, teammates such as Grimmsnarl and Tapu Koko can set screens to bolster Ursaluna's already incredible bulk, making it difficult to KO and improving its ability to trade versus more offensive teams. Since Ursaluna is very slow, it is easily forced out by other offensive Pokemon such as Zamazenta, Tapu Lele, and Urshifu-R, so defensive teammates such as Zapdos, Ferrothorn, and Alomomola are greatly appreciated. Entry hazard setters like Ferrothorn, Ting-Lu, and Landorus-T are also great teammates, as the hazards they set help break opposing teams faster and they can help check Pokemon such as Raging Bolt, Tapu Lele, and Zamazenta.

Ursaluna uses its monstrous power granted by Guts- and STAB-boosted Facade to rip holes in every opposing team for the benefit of other offensive teammates. Headlong Rush is used over Earthquake, as it isn't weakened by Grassy Terrain; however, Earthquake does not miss many notable OHKOs and can make Ursaluna more difficult to revenge kill. Fire Punch allows Ursaluna to 2HKO Skarmory and Celesteela easily as well as snipe Air Balloon Aegislash, which are the primary roadblocks that prevent Ursaluna from simply using Facade and KOing a foe. Swords Dance can be used to further secure the matchup against defensive teams and allows it to OHKO targets like Slowbro and Hippowdon; alternatively, Taunt can be used to shut down attempts to heal from Skarmory and is typically used alongside so Ursaluna outspeeds it, as it often only runs enough Speed to outrun Adamant Ursaluna. Jolly Ursaluna can fail to 2HKO or OHKO notable targets like Celesteela and Hydrapple, however. Ursaluna is used primarily on offensive teams that appreciate its ability to remove key defensive pieces while not minding its tendency to be worn down quickly due to Flame Orb chip damage and a lack of relevant resistances. At +2, Guts-boosted Facade OHKOes defensive Pokemon like Slowbro, Mandibuzz, and Mega Venusaur and 2HKOes other foes like Skarmory and Celesteela. Earthquake targets Steel- and Poison-types like Gholdengo, Archaludon, and Toxapex. Drain Punch provides Ursaluna with reliable recovery while dealing damage, taking advantage of high-HP walls like Ting-Lu and Blissey. A Jolly nature is more desirable, as most walls like Mandibuzz and Mega Venusaur only invest enough Speed for Adamant Azumarill, which Speed ties with Adamant Ursaluna. However, an Adamant nature allows Ursaluna to OHKO Iron Hand and potentially OHKO Archaludon with Earthquake. With its Fighting neutrality and Intimidate ability, Staraptor handles Fighting-types like Sneasler and Great Tusk, provides U-turn support, and serves as a Defogger. Mega Pidgeot also threatens Fighting-types like Mega Gallade and Iron Valiant and can eliminate foes like Skarmory and Corviknight with Heat Wave. Hisuian Zoroark and Porygon-Z break through foes like Skarmory and Corviknight, which Ursaluna may struggle against; the former is also Fighting-immune. In return, Ursaluna breaks through special walls like Hisuian Goodra, Blissey, and Clodsire as well as Toxapex. Blissey and Porygon2 provide a defensive backbone for Ursaluna; Blissey handles special attackers like Kyurem and Greninja, while Porygon2 deals with physical attackers like Meowscarada, Mamoswine, and Mega Swampert. Both teammates also provide speed control by spreading paralysis and provide safe entry to Ursaluna with Teleport. Furthermore, Blissey provides Stealth Rock and Wish support.

Flame Orb and Facade: Using Guts on a bulkier set may be very counter-intuitive, but with Yawn, this can make Ursaluna very difficult to check. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Medium: Ursaluna is fully capable of functioning without Terastallization, but with it, it has far fewer weaknesses. Fairy: Tera Fairy is a fantastic response against the Fighting-type attacks that threaten Ursaluna and means Choice Band Dragonite can no longer 2HKO with Outrage. Water: Tera Water is Ursaluna's best shot against Chien-Pao thanks to the Icicle Crash resistance, and it helps against Urshifu-R as well. Fighting: If using Bulk Up and Drain Punch, Tera Fighting gives Ursaluna a prime opportunity to keep restoring its health, though at the cost of doing far worse against Flutter Mane and Mimikyu. Abilities Guts: Guts is a fantastic option for punishing Will-O-Wisp from foes like Rotom-W and works well for punishing Toxic Spikes. Bulletproof: This more niche option gives Ursaluna immunity to several major moves, such as Focus Blast, Bullet Seed, Sludge Bomb, and Shadow Ball when Terastallized, particularly helping against Gholdengo if using Tera Water or Fighting. Some other Special Attacks it takes on include avoiding a 2HKO from defensive Rotom-W's Hydro Pump, avoiding a 2HKO from two consecutive Make It Rains from Choice Specs Gholdengo, and avoiding an OHKO from Tera Water Iron Bundle. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Medium: Terastallization isn't needed for Ursaluna to make good use of Assault Vest, but it can help against some common physical threats. Water: Tera Water covers Ursaluna's big Water and Ice weaknesses, helping a great deal against Urshifu-R and Chien-Pao. Fairy: Tera Fairy is Ursaluna's best choice for a Fighting resistance, in addition to helping against powerful users of Outrage such as Choice Band Dragonite and Garchomp. Ghost: If using Bulletproof, Tera Ghost is a good way to flip the tables on Fighting-types without compromising Ursaluna against Flutter Mane and Gholdengo. Abilities Guts: Even if Guts isn't guaranteed to be activated, switching Ursaluna into status moves like Will-O-Wisp can turn it into a wallbreaker in a pinch. Bulletproof: Bulletproof gives Ursaluna a very useful immunity to some attacks that hit it hard, such as Bullet Seed and Focus Blast. The Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball immunity is also fantastic when Terastallized. Minor Optimizations Female Gender: While Cute Charm Enamorus is very rare, there's no drawback in using a female gender to become immune to this ability.

With Flame Orb, Guts, and an incredible Attack stat, Ursaluna is an extremely brutal wallbreaker! Earthquake versus Headlong Rush: Earthquake is an easier move to recommend, avoiding contact with Rocky Helmet and preserving Ursaluna's hefty bulk. However, Headlong Rush's extra power can better fit the playstyles of Ursaluna that may aim for a sweep rather than just wallbreaking, such as Trick Room and Jolly variants. Drain Punch versus Close Combat: Drain Punch doesn't offer much extra coverage, but it's Ursaluna's only decent way of restoring health. Close Combat's sheer power does make it decent coverage though and can particularly punish Heatran for Terastallizing into a Grass-type. Ice Punch versus Play Rough: Once Ursaluna is burned, Ice Punch will deal so much damage to Dragonite that even the bulkiest sets can not restore all their health with Roost. Play Rough isn't nearly as effective against Dragonite, but when used with Tera Fairy, Ursaluna can now OHKO Urshifu-R before Flame Orb kicks in. Protect: While Ursaluna is powerful, it needs the Flame Orb activation to truly wallbreak, so Protect can help when switching it in isn't easy. Bulk Up versus Swords Dance: Bulk Up is the prefered setup move for making Ursaluna difficult to revenge kill with physical attacks, but Swords Dance does offer some truly absurd wallbreaking potential, allowing Ursaluna to OHKO even physically defensive Ting-Lu with Facade! Swords Dance can also be a better fit on Trick Room teams due to the limited amount of turns Ursaluna has to sweep. Trailblaze: If using Jolly Ursaluna, Trailblaze lets it outspeed key threats such as Zapdos, both Urshifu formes, Mimikyu, and even Speed tie with Timid Thundurus-T! Tera Types Tera Dependency - Low: Ursaluna benefits from Terastallization, but it's not integral to its wallbreaking prowess. Normal: Beyond getting rid of Ground's annoying weaknesses, Tera Normal turns Ursaluna into an even more fearsome wallbreaker, Fairy: Tera Fairy does a great job of protecting Ursaluna from powerful Fighting-type attacks and Dragonite's Outrage. Ghost: While Tera Ghost does make the matchup against Flutter Mane and Gholdengo worse, the Fighting immunity can turn a match around in the blink of an eye. Water: Tera Water is the prime Tera type to use when in need of an Ice and Water resistance, which is helpful against Urshifu-R and Chien-Pao. Fighting: If using Drain Punch, Tera Fighting is a reasonable option for restoring even more health, at the cost of being rather weak against Flutter Mane. Grass: Tera Gass is a niche option that lets Ursaluna deal extra damage with Trailblaze while resisting Water-type attacks and taking Spore before Flame Orb activates. Alternate EV Spreads Brave and a 0 Speed IV versus Adamant: On a Trick Room team, this lets Ursaluna underspeed some major Pokemon such as Ting-Lu and Dondozo. However, some Trick Room teams may still prefer Adamant to outspeed such slow Pokemon if they also function outside Trick Room. 140 HP / 252 Atk / 116 SpD with Adamant or Brave: This more specially defensive EV spread survives some powerful attacks even after burn damage, including Timid Choice Specs Tera Fairy Flutter Mane's Moonblast, Thundurus-T's Grass Knot, Timid Greninja's Hydro Pump, and Modest Chi-Yu's Overheat. 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe with Jolly: Maximizing Speed may seem strange on such a slow Pokemon, but Ursaluna makes fantastic use of it, making Trailblaze viable due to outspeeding even offensive variants of Zapdos after a boost and letting it wallbreak common Pokemon that often don't invest in enough Speed such as Dragonite and Heatran.
