전술 분석
Moves Swords Dance gives Sawsbuck the functionality of a wallbreaker and setup sweeper. Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move capable of breaking through physically bulky Pokemon like Musharna and Tangela with Normalium Z and Swords Dance boosts. Horn Leech is Sawsbuck's Grass-type STAB move that hits Rock-, Water-, and Ground-types such as Regirock, Omastar, and Golurk while also recovering 50% of damage dealt. Jump Kick fills in the last slot for its ability to target Steel-types such as Alolan Sandslash and Ferroseed. Set Details An Adamant nature increases Sawsbuck's offensive presence, and as it's already able to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame in sunny weather, a Jolly nature isn't necessary. Chlorophyll is important for Sawsbuck to function, doubling its Speed when under sun. Normalium Z gives Sawsbuck a one-time powerful attack, which lets it break through walls like Gurdurr and lacks Double-Edge's recoil. Life Orb is a viable option over Normalium Z for well-rounded damage output and the ability to run a Z-Move on another teammate, but the recoil caused by both this item and Double-Edge reduces Sawsbuck's longevity and can force it to use Horn Leech on crucial turns to avoid being KOed by recoil. Usage Tips Sawsbuck serves as both a wallbreaker and late-game sweeper. It can utilize Swords Dance and Normalium Z to punch holes through walls for other teammates, while at the same time it can put its impeccable Speed tier to use to clean up late-game. Since Sawsbuck's frailty and common weaknesses prevent it from reliably switching directly into attacks, bring it in safely through means of momentum from Pokemon like Volbeat, as it preserves Sawsbuck's limited longevity. Feel free to set up on Pokemon such as Audino, Altaria, and Clefairy lacking Thunder Wave, as due to their passive nature and poor matchup, Sawsbuck threatens to break through them. Sawsbuck can additionally pressure Pokemon like Lanturn and Silvally-Water, as while they sometimes carry Ice Beam, the prospect of Sawsbuck's Horn Leech is often enough to force a switch. An opponent may try using Protect with Pokemon like Audino and Regirock or otherwise try switching out in order to stall out sun turns, which makes for another opportunity to utilize Swords Dance. Save Sawsbuck's Z-Move for dire situations, as it's an important tool for breaking through walls as well as preventing Double-Edge's recoil. Sawsbuck will fail to break through Pokemon like Gurdurr and Type: Null if they're healthy and Sawsbuck can no longer use its Z-Crystal. Using Breakneck Blitz can also help Sawsbuck win over matchups against powerful offensive threats such as Drampa, which can otherwise survive an unboosted Double-Edge or Jump Kick if kept relatively healthy. Team Options Having sun up is key for Sawsbuck to function, so setters such as Regirock and Volbeat are important for granting it a Chlorophyll boost; Regirock can provide additional support through Stealth Rock, while Volbeat can comfortably switch into priority moves such as Mach Punch. Liepard can also provide support through Thunder Wave, and can pivot with U-turn to bring Sawsbuck in safely. Wallbreakers such as Victreebel and Simisear are valued on sun teams, as they can weaken physically bulky Pokemon such as Gurdurr and Tangela. Victreebel can additionally absorb Toxic Spikes by switching in. These Pokemon appreciate Sawsbuck being able to power through specially bulky Pokemon such as Muk and Probopass. Other sun sweepers like Shiftry and Exeggutor appreciate Sawsbuck's ability to remove Steel-types with Jump Kick, as well as its ability to check miscellaneous threats to sun teams such as Drampa and Munchlax.
