Analyse
Set Details Regidrago is a threatening late-game sweeper, with its powerful Dragon Energy cleanly OHKOing many offensive foes such as Krookodile, Terrakion, and Feraligatr. However, Dragon Energy can be unreliable at times due to its insistence on Regidrago maintaining high HP. Draco Meteor provides a consistently strong attack regardless of Regidrago's current HP, though it's not as spammable as Dragon Energy due to its Special Attack-dropping effect. Dragon Pulse trades consistency for power and can help Regidrago clean during the late-game. Earth Power complements Regidrago's Dragon-type STAB moves nicely, hitting Steel-types like Jirachi, Magnezone, and Empoleon super effectively. Tera Dragon helps Regidrago muscle past specially defensive Pokemon such as Umbreon and Alolan Muk. Regidrago thrives on balance and bulky offense structures that can keep it healthy through providing entry hazard control as well as switch-ins to faster threats while being able to chip its checks to open it up for a sweep late-game. Fairy-types like Gardevoir, Diancie, and Mimikyu are Regidrago's biggest roadblock to sweeping teams. Because of this, Regidrago greatly appreciates support from Steel-type partners that can handle them with ease, such as Bisharp, Registeel, Jirachi, and Magnezone. However, when these same Steel-type Pokemon are on the opposing team, they can cause problems for Regidrago. This means Magnezone is an especially good teammate, since it can provide extra support through Magnet Pull, locking in and KOing pesky opposing Steel-types for Regidrago. Additionally, other Pokemon that beat Steel-types like Krookodile, Entei, and Terrakion work well alongside Regidrago. Since Regidrago's chance at a sweep is heavily reliant on its ability to repeatedly throw off a powerful Dragon Energy, hazard control is vital. For this, Noivern and Cyclizar are the most viable entry hazard removal options. Wish passers and Healing Wish users like Umbreon, Jirachi, and Gardevoir as well as Lunar Dance Cresselia are great at keeping Regidrago healthy. Pivots like Magnezone, Jirachi, and Flamigo synergize well alongside Regidrago, as they can provide it with safe entry through their pivot moves, simultaneously keeping it healthy and maintaining Dragon Energy's power. On top of that, these three partners can threaten bothersome foes like Gardevoir, Registeel, and Mimikyu, respectively. Another issue with Regidrago is that the majority of Choice Scarf users outspeed Regidrago and, by dealing damage to it, threaten its chance at sweeping with Dragon Energy. This means that answers such as Slowbro and Gastrodon to Choice Scarf foes like Jirachi, Flamigo, and Krookodile are recommended. Pokemon like Klefki, Empoleon, and Rhyperior make for especially strong partners, as their hazards can wear down the opposing team to the point where Regidrago can sweep it without issue.
