Parting Shot is also an indispensable tool that, thanks to Incineroar's low Speed, provides teammates with safer switches. Alternatively, Throat Chop alongside Speed investment is an option to try and disable opposing Incineroar's Parting Shot. Taunt is immensely useful for shutting down support moves from the likes of Porygon2, Amoonguss, and Grimmsnarl. Burning Jealousy can be run in the fourth moveslot to punish the metagame's many boosting Max Move users, such as Thundurus, Landorus-T, and Calyrex-Ice. Will-O-Wisp is another option that punishes physical attackers similarly to Burning Jealousy without being as situational; however, unlike Burning Jealousy, it fails versus Taunt and redirection from the likes of Indeedee-F and Amoonguss. Sitrus Berry improves Incineroar's longevity, and it's preferable to Iapapa Berry because it activates more reliably. Safety Goggles improves Incineroar's matchup against Venusaur and Amoonguss by giving it an immunity to their powder moves. Shuca Berry is an alternative for fighting Pokemon that rely on Ground-type attacks to hit Incineroar such as Calyrex-I, Solgaleo, and Groudon. A physically defensive EV spread is preferred to best stand up to the likes of Zacian-C, Calyrex-I, and powerful super effective attacks such as Landorus-T's -1 Max Quake. It takes Choice Band Urshifu-S's -1 Close Combat almost every time, and the remaining EVs are thrown into Special Defense to help Incineroar deal with special attackers like Venusuar and Calyrex-S. Incineroar's EV spread is, however, extremely flexible; it can even viably run maximum Speed on teams with Speed control such as Tailwind, Scary Face, or Thunder Wave to outspeed Zacian-C and Calyrex-S. Investing more into Special Defense is a niche option to help against Pokemon such as Charizard and Venusaur; however, Incineroar's physical bulk is generally too important to give up, and Assault Vest Incineroar is likely the better option for checking Calyrex-S. Incineroar is such an amazing support Pokemon that it will realistically fit on nearly any team and perform well.

Incineroar is a phenomenal support Pokemon with its utility moves and Intimidate, and Assault Vest makes it a strong check to one of the metagame's most centralizing forces: Calyrex-S. Flare Blitz is required to hit Venusaur and Zacian-C super effectively. Fake Out and U-turn are invaluable support moves; the former gives Incineroar's teammates setup opportunities, while the latter helps Incineroar pivot its teammates in safely thanks to its low Speed. Darkest Lariat Calyrex-S and ignores Defense boosts from the likes of Solgaleo's and Metagross's Max Steelspike. Throat Chop is an alternative STAB move that, with Speed investment, can attempt to block Parting Shot from opposing Incineroar. Snarl weakens special attackers such as Venusaur, Charizard, and Regieleki while still doing respectable damage to Calyrex-S and bypassing its Substitute. The defensive investment on this set takes Zacian-C's unboosted Close Combat. Assault Vest Incineroar is generally seen on teams that appreciate stronger insurance versus Calyrex-S, such as on Calyrex-I and Groudon teams.

Flare Blitz is necessary to slam Steel- and Grass-types like Zacian-C and Amoonguss. Fake Out allows Incineroar to prevent a foe from moving, giving its teammates safer opportunities to set up or attack. Parting Shot weakens a foe and lets Incineroar pivot its teammates in safely, the latter especially thanks to Incineroar's low Speed. Throat Chop enormously damages Calyrex-S to the point of activating its Focus Sash, and it can block Parting Shot from opposing Incineroar. Taunt shuts down status moves like Amoonguss's powder moves, Thundurus's and Grimmsnarl's Prankster-supported moves, and Calyrex-I's and Porygon2's Trick Room. Burning Jealousy can severely punish Max Moves like Thundurus's Max Airstream, Groudon's Max Quake, and Solgaleo's Max Quake, and it is especially useful with Shuca Berry to better withstand Max Quake. Shuca Berry is useful to withstand the metagame's bountiful Ground-type attacks from the likes of Landorus-T and Groudon. Sitrus Berry simply improves Incineroar's longevity. Defense investment helps with the metagame's powerful physical attackers like Zacian-C and Calyrex-I; 156 Defense EVs allow Incineroar to very consistently survive Zacian-C's +1 Sacred Sword. Maximum Speed investment is viable on teams with Tailwind to outpace Calyrex-S and Zacian-C. A specially defensive EV spread like 252 HP / 124 Def / 132 SpD with a Careful nature survives Life Orb Regieleki's Max Lightning and Calyrex-S's Max Quake.

Incineroar acts as a defensive pivot for Fire teams thanks to its respectable natural bulk backed by a good defensive typing for Fire teams and a great ability in Intimidate that allows it to take on threats such as Choice Scarf Dragapult, Kyurem, Indeedee, and Gardevoir. Knock Off allows Incineroar to remove items from offensive and defensive Pokemon alike such as Galarian Corsola's Eviolite, Alolan Ninetales's Light Clay, and Black Sludge. Toxic allows Incineroar to cripple walls such as Hippowdon and Mandibuzz, allowing its teammates to quickly wear them down. Taunt prevents entry hazards from slower setters such as Stealth Rock from Ferrothorn and Toxic Spikes from Pincurchin and stops walls such as Toxapex from recovering off damage and spreading status. Parting Shot allows Incineroar to safely pivot in a wallbreaker such as Choice Band Arcanine or Choice Scarf Charizard for the team. Alternatively, U-turn still allows Incineroar to act as a slow pivot and cannot be blocked by Taunt. Heavy-Duty Boots allows Incineroar to pivot in even when hazards are up, allowing it to tank more attacks such as Dragapult's Draco Meteor. Intimidate further allows Incineroar to act as a pivot by enabling it to switch into physical attackers such as Tyranitar, Corviknight, and Mimikyu. The given EVs with a Careful nature allow it to tank a plethora of special attacks such as being able to dodge the 2HKO from Choice Specs Dragapult's Draco Meteor, Aegislash's Shadow Ball, and Alolan Raichu's Thunderbolt. All Fire-type Pokemon appreciate Incineroar's ability to pivot into Ghost attacks such as Mimikyu's Shadow Claw and Dragapult's Shadow Ball and provide a Psychic immunity. Wallbreakers like Charizard, Arcanine, and Darmanitan appreciate Incineroar's ability to safely bring them in with Parting Shot and can just break through any Pokemon that troubles Incineroar such as Mandibuzz with their sheer power. Torkoal's sun can allow Incineroar to more readily switch into Water attacks such as Toxapex's Scald and Gyarados's Waterfall. Incineroar again can take on special attackers for Torkoal such as Choice Specs Aegislash, Indeedee, and Hatterene, which all threaten easily Torkoal due to its pitiful Special Defense. Charizard provides a Ground immunity for Incineroar, while Incineroar can proactively cripple walls with Toxic and Taunt, such as Toxapex and Galarian Corsola, which can otherwise wall Charizard. Incineroar can also switch into Choice Scarf Dragapult for Charizard, which is the only faster Pokemon than Charizard in the Dragon matchup. Cinderace and Rotom-H also form a pivoting core with Incineroar, as each of them can generate momentum with their pivoting moves. Additionally, Rotom-H can take on Water-type Pokemon such as Gyarados for Incineroar with Thunderbolt. Cinderace can also take on Dark-type Pokemon for Incineroar with High Jump Kick, such as Hydreigon and Tyranitar. Arcanine additionally can revenge kill Pokemon that get out of hand for Incineroar, such as Cloyster, thanks to Choice Band-boosted Extreme Speed.

Fake Out can provide space for your partner to boost its stats, provide speed control, switch, or attack. Flare Blitz is a strong STAB move that hits Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Genesect for super effective damage. Despite little investment, it still hits hard due to Flare Blitz's high Base Power, which is worth the recoil. Knock Off is a great utility move because removing items is always beneficial. Specifically, it can remove important items such as Eviolite on Porygon2, Assault Vest on Kyurem-B, and Leftovers on Tapu Fini. Parting Shot allows you to grab momentum while also enabling recycling of Fake Out and Intimidate. It also has the added bonus of crippling common switch-ins such as Urshifu-R and Volcanion. The EV spread allows Incineroar to survive a Steam Eruption from Volcanion and OHKO Dragapult with Knock Off. EVs can be moved to Speed to outpace threats in Tailwind. Sitrus Berry provides burst healing which helps Incineroar in pivoting in and out. It also gives it good odds to survive two Choice Band Zygarde Thousand Arrows at -1. Intimidate weakens most opposing physical attackers on the switch in, notably Dragon Dance Kyurem-B and Zygarde, often forcing them out to reset their own stats.

Incineroar is the best Intimidate user in 2v2 Doubles and one of the top Fake Out users. With its incredible mixed bulk, it is no wonder that Assault Vest + Intimidate Incineroar makes up the defensive backbone of many teams. With the provided EV spread, it is able to survive nearly any single target attack, up to a +1 Meteor Beam from Nihilego or a -1 Close Combat from Pheromosa. Flare Blitz OHKOes various Pokemon, such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Pheromosa, even with no Attack investment. Knock Off provides higher damage output than Darkest Lariat, as well as utility by removing items, but Darkest Lariat is better against Grassy Seed Cresselia and Cosmic Power Mew. Earthquake OHKOes Nihilego and bypasses Follow Me, making Incineroar's matchup against Psychic Terrain teams even better—it also stops Victini, Indeedee-F, Genesect, and Hattrenne naturally. In return, these teammates remove various Rock- and Ground-types such as Nihilego, Diancie, Zygarde, Landorus, and Landorus-T for Incineroar. Kyurem-B is a decent partner for Incineroar as well; it appreciates that Incineroar removes some of its common checks, like Genesect and Pheromosa, and supplements its tremendous bulk. Kyurem-B threatens Water-types like Tapu Fini and Ground-types like Zygarde for Incineroar. Regieleki and Zeraora also go well with Incineroar, despite their shared Ground weakness. They remove Water-types such as Tapu Fini, Volcanion, and Blastoise and fast threats like Cinderace, Galarian Zapdos, and Pheromosa. Incineroar also enjoys the speed control they provide, and its Intimidate weakens Rillaboom so they do not have to fear Grassy Glide. Bulky setup Pokemon like Celesteela, Cresselia, and Mew appreciate Intimidate supplementing their already tremendous bulk. All three also match up well versus various threats to Incineroar, such as Nihilego, Diancie, Volcanion, and Galarian Zapdos. Landorus and Tapu Fini ease the Incineroar mirror matchup and remove other checks like Volcanion and Diancie.

Speed investment allows it to outspeed base 60 Pokemon even with a negative nature. Special Attack investment allows it to OHKO Cobalion with Overheat.

EV Spreads 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with Sassy: This spread allows Incineroar to handle Calyrex-S and Yveltal more effectively, while having the slowest use of Parting Shot possible. 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with Relaxed: Maximizing Defense makes Incineroar more capable of crippling Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM.

EV Spreads 244 HP / 4 Atk / 4 Def / 236 SpD / 20 Spe with Adamant: This EV spread allows Incineroar to almost always survive a +2 Max Quake from Calyrex-S, while outspeeding most Tyranitar. 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpD with Sassy: This spread avoids a 2HKO from Timid Life Orb Yveltal's Max Airstream, while having the slowest possible U-turn. 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with Sassy: This spread lets Incineroar survive two Max Airstreams from Modest Life Orb Yveltal, at the cost of physical bulk.

Moves Bulk Up is lets Incineroar tank multiple hits from some of the strongest offensive threats in the metagame such as physical Dragonite, Celesteela, and Mega Charizard X. Fake Out allows Incineroar to break abilities like Multiscale and Sturdy for free, as well as get Pokemon into the KO range of Incineroar's remaining attacks. This will allow Incineroar to beat Pokemon such as Dragonite, Magnezone, Haxorus, and bulky Mega Charizard Y. Darkest Lariat is a moderately powerful Dark-type STAB move unique to Incineroar that allows it to ignore opposing stat changes, particularly any boosts in Defense. This allows Incineroar to blast through stall Pokemon that rely on boosting their Defense, such as Mega Slowbro, Deoxys-S, and Type: Null. When boosted by Incinium Z, it becomes an exceptionally powerful one-time attack capable of dealing with threats such as Meloetta, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's secondary STAB option, not only hitting harder than Darkest Lariat but also threatening Steel-type Pokemon such as Kartana, Genesect, and Celesteela. Taunt can be useful to beat certain stall Pokemon such as Jumpluff, Breloom, and Chansey. Will-O-Wisp can be run with a faster spread in order to beat Donphan and Golem. Set Details Maximum HP investment and 108 Defense EVs let Incineroar survive Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite, use Bulk Up, and then survive the following Earthquake; it also lets Incineroar tank two uses of Outrage from Mega Charizard X. Maximum HP investment and 100 Special Defense EVs allow Incineroar to survive Gigavolt Havoc from Magnezone, Draco Meteor from Naganadel, and Air Slash followed by Blast Burn from Speedy Bulky Mega Charizard Y. The remaining EVs are put into Attack alongside an Adamant nature in order to improve its offensive presence. Intimidate enables Incineroar to survive physical attacks it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Devastating Drake from physical Dragonite and Giga Impact from non-Hyper Cutter Mega Pinsir. A more specially defensive EV spread of 228 HP / 28 Atk / 252 SpD with an Adamant nature can also be run in order to always survive Choice Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam and beat Speedy Bulky Tapu Lele variants. If you're running Will-O-Wisp, a spread of 28 HP / 52 Atk / 252 Def / 176 Spe with an Impish nature can be used in order to beat Donphan and Golem, alongside maintaining a physical Dragonite matchup. Usage Tips Don't use Fake Out against Tapu Lele, as it can block Fake Out with Psychic Surge. Against Mega Slowbro and Speedy Bulky Tapu Lele , using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to react to either Iron Defense and Scald from the former or Moonblast and Z-Reflect from the latter. Against Mega Slowbro, Bulk Up allows either Darkest Lariat to 2HKO through Iron Defense or Malicious Moonsault to OHKO if Mega Slowbro uses Scald. For Tapu Lele, using Bulk Up allows Incineroar to 3HKO it with a combination of Malicious Moonsault followed by two uses of Darkest Lariat through Z-Reflect, with Bulk Up forcing Tapu Lele to use Z-Reflect no matter what, avoiding the need to predict. Bear in mind, however, that Incineroar can only beat this Tapu Lele set with the alternative specially defensive EV spread. Team Options Incineroar appreciates answers to Pokemon that can hit it super effectively, mainly Water-, Rock-, Ground-, and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Golem, and Kommo-o. To fulfill this need, use bulky Grass-, Psychic-, Water-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Lele, Mega Slowbro, Primarina, and Tapu Fini, all of which can sponge up any attacks coming from these threats and fire back with their own super effective moves. They also appreciate Incineroar's penchant to nail hyper offensive threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Magnezone. Incineroar is naturally slow and thus has issues with Pokemon that can capitalize on its poor Speed, such as Jumpluff, standard Magearna, and Vivillon. Pokemon such as Genesect, Ferrothorn, and Taunt Mega Mawile can all do well against these Pokemon.

Fake Out is one of Incineroar's main selling points, allowing it to immobilize foes for a turn. This has a multitude of applications, including breaking a foe's Focus Sash and enabling an ally to remain safe from a threatening foe for that turn. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's go-to Fire-type STAB move, enabling it to deal heavy damage to Pokemon like Celesteela, Ferrothorn, and Aegislash. In addition to dealing solid Dark-type damage, Knock Off enables Incineroar to remove items, especially items like Berries and Assault Vest, the removal of which makes the defensive Pokemon that carry them less threatening. Low Kick lets Incineroar deal damage to Tyranitar and Heatran, which otherwise don't mind facing it. Darkest Lariat allows Incineroar to use Malicious Moonsault, which scores OHKOs on Cresselia, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Metagross, among others, depending on their EV spreads. Firium Z allows Incineroar to use Inferno Overdrive, which, along with giving it a strong, single-use Fire-type attack that deals no recoil damage, is a non-contact move, allowing it to be used into Aegislash's King's Shield without causing an Attack drop. If Incineroar is carrying Incinium Z or Iapapa Berry, Protect may be used in order to allow it to protect itself from a foe while its ally handles said foe. Incineroar may also consider using Snarl, which gives it additional utility in weakening special attackers like Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele. Taunt can also be a useful move, as it allows Incineroar to prevent Trick Room from being set up. Incineroar can also make use of U-turn to deal chip damage and switch out for another teammate. Thanks to Incineroar's low Speed, this helps that teammate switch in unscathed and allows Incineroar to refresh its Fake Out and Intimidate. Intimidate has immense utility, lowering the Attack stat of both opposing Pokemon any time Incineroar is sent out. An Adamant nature is used in order to improve Incineroar's damage output. Assuming Incineroar's held item is Assault Vest, the given EV spread ensures Tapu Koko never 2HKOes it with Thunderbolt. If Incineroar carries Incinium Z or Iapapa Berry instead of Assault Vest, the specially defensive benchmark is no longer relevant, so Incineroar should run a spread of 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD in those cases. Iapapa Berry may be used if Incineroar needs to carry a status move like Protect or Taunt but still wants an improvement in bulk. It also enables Incineroar to recover from Flare Blitz recoil, lessening the drawback from it. Given Incineroar's ability to check Pokemon like Celesteela and Aegislash, Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and Kommo-o value its support. Pokemon like Milotic, Cresselia, and Suicune make for good partners for Incineroar, given that they have the ability to answer Landorus-T for it. Grass-types like Kartana and Electric-types like Tapu Koko handle Milotic, which boasts the ability to turn Incineroar into a liability thanks to Competitive, as well as other Water-types like Suicune and Tapu Fini that Incineroar can't handle on its own. Using one or two of Tapu Koko, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini is recommended; although Incineroar is not too threatened by Tapu Lele itself, it still appreciates the removal of Psychic Terrain, given that Psychic Terrain prevents it from using Fake Out. Pokemon with moves like Tailwind and Trick Room, such as Suicune and Cresselia, appreciate Incineroar's Fake Out support, as Incineroar can immobilize a user of a move like Taunt that would prevent their setup. Incineroar also appreciates both of these forms of speed control, given its lackluster Speed stat. If using Incineroar alongside Tailwind, running 76 Speed EVs may be considered so as to allow Incineroar to outspeed Mega Metagross under Tailwind. If using Incineroar on a Trick Room team, make sure to use a Brave nature with 0 Speed IVs in order to ensure that Incineroar maximizes its benefit from Trick Room.

Fake Out lets Incineroar make a threatening foe flinch to secure its partner a safe turn. Flare Blitz is Incineroar's main attacking option, which heavily damages Amoonguss, Kartana, and Mega Metagross. U-turn lets it pivot out and come back later in the game for additional Intimidate and Fake Out support. Knock Off balances power with utility, as it hits decently hard while removing items from foes, namely Figy Berry and the rest of the 50% recovery Berries. Snarl works well for lowering the damage output of special attackers like Lunala, Ultra Necrozma, and Tapu Koko. 236 HP and Special Defense EVs let Incineroar always survive Xerneas's +2 Moonblast, allowing Incineroar to phaze it with Roar or threaten it offensively with Flare Blitz. If using Assault Vest, an EV spread of 252 HP / 164 Atk / 92 SpD should be used instead, as it cleanly survives +2 Moonblast while also taking Origin Pulse from standard Primal Kyogre in rain. It is not a stretch to say that Incineroar can fit on every team composition in the metagame; its toolkit is just that valuable for any archetype, as Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre appreciate its pivoting to help win weather wars, Xerneas and Mega Rayquaza have a much easier time setting up with Fake Out and Intimidate support, and Lunala and Ultra Necrozma get a switch-in to Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom or Light That Burns the Sky for the mirror matchups. One important usage tip is that Incineroar very much likes to pivot in and out of the battlefield often, so only stay in and attack with moves that are not U-turn or Fake Out when absolutely necessary.

Fake Out grabs momentum, as it grants Incineroar's partner a safer turn to attack or set up. Darkest Lariat is required for Malicious Moonsault, Incineroar's signature Z-Move, which can OHKO Lunala and Ultra Necrozma at -1 Attack. Darkest Lariat also has the benefit of outdamaging Knock Off against Mega Evolved Pokemon, Z-Move users, Primal Kyogre, and Primal Groudon. U-turn lets Incineroar safely pivot to partners that can more appropriately handle the current situation, being particularly useful for weather wars, bringing in Steel-types on Xerneas, or granting additional Intimidate support against Primal Groudon. Flare Blitz hits Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Xerneas, while Roar lets Incineroar force out Geomancy-boosted Xerneas and Trick Room users like Stakataka and Lunala. 156 Attack EVs and an Adamant nature always let Incineroar OHKO Lunala at -1 with Malicious Moonsault, while 252 HP and 100 Special Defense EVs allow it to survive standard Xerneas's Dazzling Gleam. Since Incineroar invests offensively to be an effective Z-Move user, it loses out on the relevant Special Defense investment to make it a solid Xerneas check. Because of this, it should be paired with Pokemon such as bulky Primal Groudon, Haze Tapu Fini, and Stakataka, which all give Xerneas a hard time. It also loses to both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, and it is frequently paired with Mega Salamence and Kartana as a result. It can also work on Kyogre-based teams, but it is advised to pair it with Mega Metagross and a second source of Fairy resistance, which is still a solid enough means of checking Xerneas.

Moves Fake Out offers Incineroar's teammates a turn of safety from a threat, allowing them to safely boost or set up speed control rather than having to use Protect. Flare Blitz acts as Incineroar's primary method of dealing damage, and it is useful due to Incineroar's decent Attack stat despite the recoil damage it inflicts. Knock Off mainly operates as a method to remove items from the opposition, though it also hits fairly hard due to the STAB boost. U-turn provides Incineroar the ability to pivot out of mediocre matchups and maintain momentum, also offering its teammates a safer switch. Taunt offers a different form of utility that's particularly useful to Trick Room teams, which need a way to prevent phazing moves like Whirlwind and Roar. Set Details Intimidate is crucial to Incineroar's success in Doubles, weakening incoming attacks and keeping Incineroar useful throughout the game. A Figy Berry provides a boost of health when Incineroar needs it most, and Incineroar's bulk allows it to often survive long enough to take advantage of this. With the given EV spread, Incineroar can take a Modest Choice Specs Tapu Koko's Thunderbolt even after Stealth Rock and avoids the 2HKO from -1 Kartana's Sacred Sword. The 12 EVs in Speed allow Incineroar to move before uninvested Celesteela. A Sassy nature with a minimized Speed IV and the 12 Speed EVs moved to Special Defense is also viable, as this improves Incineroar's ability to function as a slow pivot, giving its allies a better chance of entering the field unharmed after it brings them in with U-turn. However, this makes it a bit tougher for Incineroar to get its attacks off against some threats in a similar Speed tier. Alternatively, a more offensive spread of 252 HP / 120 Atk / 20 Def / 116 SpD with an Adamant nature retains enough bulk to take two Stomping Tantrums from -1 Mega Metagross, Superpower from +0 offensive Landorus-T, or a Thunderbolt-based Gigavolt Havoc from Tapu Koko with as much power as possible. The Speed investment on Incineroar is flexible; some teams with Tailwind support may use 80 EVs in Speed to allow Incineroar to outpace Mega Metagross in Tailwind, though this will cut into its bulk a bit. An Assault Vest allows Incineroar to take some special hits that would otherwise knock it out, but the chip damage incurred from operating as a pivot, both from Stealth Rock and incoming attacks, often prevents this from coming into play. Usage Tips Incineroar works as a fantastic lead by providing a free initial turn with Fake Out and weakening incoming attacks; U-turn improves on this even more by enabling it to fix any potential poor matchup and keep the pressure on. Knock Off is a fantastic move to use a majority of the time, as even targets that will take little damage from the move won't appreciate their items being removed. However, if Incineroar really needs to do damage or take something out, Flare Blitz is far more reliable, as Knock Off can be fairly weak against targets carrying a Mega Stone or Z-Crystal. Keep Incineroar's teammates healthier by switching out primarily with U-turn, but you can switch directly to avoid letting Incineroar take unneeded damage if that could put you in a poor spot later in the game. Even if Incineroar is unable to damage most of the opponent's remaining team, don't undervalue the support it provides for late-game positioning in the form of Intimidate, Fake Out, item removal, and pivoting. If Stealth Rock has been set on your side of the field, avoid sending Incineroar onto the field too much, as that will cut into its longevity. Team Options Nearly every team can benefit from Incineroar's positive matchups and support; however, some teammates have notable synergy with it. Setup Pokemon such as Calm Mind Tapu Fini, Clangorous Soulblaze Kommo-o, and Trick Room Stakataka seize free turns provided by Fake Out especially well. Frailer teammates greatly appreciate the safer switches through U-turn and weakening of incoming attacks with Intimidate, so Nihilego, Kartana, and Mega Gardevoir are solid options. Diancie, Kyurem-B, and any other Pokemon that struggle to break through Steel-types tend to benefit most from Incineroar's positive matchups. Water-types like Volcanion, Tapu Fini, and Suicune are best handled by a teammate, making Tapu Koko, Tapu Bulu, or Kartana quite useful.
