Analysis
Utility Rapidash is a solid check to prominent threats in ZU such as Froslass, Thwackey, and Articuno. High Horsepower targets Rock-types like Rhydon and Coalossal as well as Pokemon like Ninetales and Qwilfish. Toxic places checks such as Cramorant and Pyukumuku on a timer, while Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers like Kangaskhan, Piloswine, and Silvally formes. Morning Sun allows Rapidash to remain healthy throughout a match to continually soft check foes. Flame Body lets Rapidash punish physical attackers like Thwackey and Klinklang. Utility Rapidash fits on bulky offense and balance teams as a check to many of ZU's prominent offensive threats. Tangela is an amazing partner, as it covers problematic Water- and Ground-types like Poliwrath and Rhydon. In return, Rapidash is able to take on opposing Fire- and Ice-types, which give Tangela trouble. This core is often paired with special walls like Clefairy and Articuno to handle foes like Thievul and Rotom. Ice-types like Froslass and Articuno can threaten the aforementioned Ground-types while also dealing with the problematic Altaria. Knock Off absorbers like Uxie and Qwilfish are necessary to preserve Rapidash's Heavy-Duty Boots, which is crucial to letting it consistently switch in.
