Indeedee Movesets & Competitive Sets

Indeedee-M is a fast Psychic Terrain setter that can both boost its partner's Psychic-type damage and use its Psychic Terrain for itself. Expanding Force is Indeedee-M's main method of dealing damage, while the combination of Trick Room and Imprison lets it both set Trick Room against faster teams and deny it against opposing Trick Room. Choice Scarf sets opt for Dazzling Gleam as a spread damage attack to hit Dark-type Pokemon, Trick to potentially cripple Trick Room setters like Porygon2, and Tera Blast as an option for a Normal-type STAB attack. Protect can be used on Focus Sash sets for increased flexibility. Focus Sash lets Indeedee-M survive at least one strong attack, letting it invest fully in Special Attack and Speed, while Choice Scarf lets it outspeed Pokemon like Sneasler and Dragapult. Tera Psychic guarantees Expanding Force OHKOes Amoonguss, while Tera Blast Fighting lets Indeedee-M threaten Dark-types that otherwise wall it.

Indeedee-M is a good Choice Scarf user on Normal teams due to its decent Speed stat, being able to outspeed threats like Keldeo and Okidogi. Thanks to its part-Psychic typing, it is able to take out foes like Iron Valiant and Urshifu-R with Expanding Force. Combining Psychic Surge with Expanding Force allows Indeedee-M to take out threats like Keldeo, Great Tusk, Iron Hands, and Toxapex. Dazzling Gleam lets Indeedee-M pressure Dark-, Fighting-, and Dragon-types like Choice Specs Greninja, Scrafty, and Hydreigon. Trick can punish common walls like Ting-Lu, Corviknight, and Empoleon, while Healing Wish provides support for the team. Choice Specs Hisuian Zoroark is a nice teammate for Indeedee-M, being able to check Ghost-, Steel- and Psychic-types like Ceruledge, Archaludon, and Metagross. Hisuian Zoroark also provides help by using Trick to Choice-lock walls like Alolan Muk and Assault Vest Iron Hands. Indeedee-M returns the favor by taking out bulky foes like Clodsire and Toxapex and providing immunity against Sucker Punch Bisharp while the Psychic Terrain from its ability remains active. Ditto helps Indeedee-M as a late-game wincon by transforming into Chien-Pao, Garchomp, and Gouging Fire in the Dark, Dragon, and Fire matchups, respectively, reverse sweeping when possible. Smeargle is a nice entry hazard setter, providing Spikes and Sticky Web for Indeedee-M to slow down fast Choice Scarf users like Sneasler, Urshifu-R, and Roaring Moon. Calm Mind Ursaluna-B deals with specially defensive Pokemon that Indeedee-M can't break like Alolan Muk, Hisuian Goodra, and Tyranitar. In return, Indeedee-M takes out Iron Valiant and Urshifu-R without Choice Scarf for Ursaluna-B and Smeargle. Blissey is a nice teammate that can tank special hits from foes like Greninja and Flutter Mane while also setting Stealth Rock and spreading paralysis with Thunder Wave. Porygon2 is a good defensive wall that is able to tank hits from Ogerpon formes, Gouging Fire, and Ceruledge while also checking them with Foul Play. Porygon2 also pressures Flying-types like Corviknight, Dragonite, and Mandibuzz with Discharge and Ice Beam. Indeedee-M doesn't like hazards, so Braviary is a great option that can remove hazards with Defog while taking out foes like Lokix and Hisuian Samurott with Brave Bird and Close Combat, respectively. Terapagos is another option due to its colorful moveset, including BoltBeam coverage that can take out Skarmory, Garchomp, and Landorus, and it can also remove hazards for the team with Rapid Spin. Terapagos's signature move Tera Starstorm allows Terapagos to dent bulky Pokemon. Loaded Dice Cinccino can be a physical sweeper and hazard remover with Tidy Up. Cinccino also has great coverage, including moves that can deal with Ground-, Water-, Flying-, Dragon-, and Ice-types with Bullet Seed, Triple Axel, and Rock Blast.

Choice Scarf Indeedee-M's exclusive access to Psychic Surge immediately gives it a niche on Psychic teams as a Terrain setter, and its solid support options, decent offenses, and immunity to Ghost ensure it isn't dead weight outside of that. Expanding Force effectively has 156 Base Power under Psychic Terrain before factoring in STAB, easily making up for Indeedee-M's middling Special Attack with its devastating strength. This makes Indeedee-M a brutally effective revenge killer, picking off most neutral targets, like the Ogerpon formes and Choice Specs Dragapult, after some chip damage. Dazzling Gleam is critical coverage for Dark-types that try to switch into Expanding Force, notably OHKOing Hydreigon, Lokix, and non-Choice Scarf Roaring Moon after Stealth Rock damage. Trick prevents Indeedee-M from becoming dead weight against teams with bulky special walls like Blissey, Alolan Muk, and Hisuian Goodra, letting it hinder them with an unwanted Choice item. Alternatively, Shadow Ball gives Indeedee-M an option to hit Gholdengo with, which can prove useful for Psychic teams, and it also hits opposing Psychic-types like Hatterene super effectively. However, a lack of Trick will make Indeedee-M far easier to handle with the aforementioned special walls. Finally, Healing Wish is an extremely powerful support tool that lets Indeedee-M give a dangerous teammate like Calm Mind Latios a second chance at sweeping. A Timid nature is required, since it lets Indeedee-M outspeed other common Choice Scarf users like Kleavor and Great Tusk. Steel-types are the bane of Indeedee-M's existence, since it lacks any kind of coverage for them, so having a fallback plan against them is essential. Slowbro is a great switch-in against Steel-type attackers like Excadrill and Heatran, resisting their STAB moves and threatening a powerful Body Press in return; its great physical bulk also helps the team play around other major threats like Tyranitar and Mamoswine. In return, Indeedee-M takes out Hydreigon for Slowbro. Hatterene doesn't fare as well against Steel-types defensively, but it can threaten them with Mystical Fire and give Indeedee-M's team a potent wincon that's made more threatening if Indeedee-M cripples a special wall like Alolan Muk with Trick; reflecting entry hazards with Magic Bounce also improves Indeedee-M's longevity and helps to chip foes into cleanup range. Swords Dance Iron Boulder is a terrifying setup sweeper that can plow through bulkier Pokemon that Indeedee-M struggles with, especially Blissey and Bisharp with Close Combat, and Psychic Terrain is incredible support for it, since it otherwise fears common priority moves. Choice Scarf Iron Boulder is also a great option to cover faster Choice Scarf users that Psychic struggles with like Meowscarada. Choice Band Hoopa-U is another physical wallbreaker that can deal with specially bulky Pokemon, notably OHKOing Bisharp and Gholdengo with Drain Punch and Knock Off. Indeedee-M returns the favor by taking out Choice Scarf Great Tusk and mixed Iron Valiant for Hoopa-U, and it becomes much harder to KO when shielded from Bisharp's Sucker Punch and other priority moves. Offensive Deoxys-S becomes incredibly threatening under Psychic Terrain, since it can use Expanding Force for its STAB move, making Choice Specs and Nasty Plot sets far more threatening. Latios doesn't directly benefit from Psychic Terrain, but it provides a useful Ground immunity for the team, and it enjoys the speed control and Ghost immunity Indeedee-M provides to help it against threats like Flutter Mane. Entry hazard support can greatly help to nudge foes into Indeedee-M's KO range, letting it clean up late-game more easily; Jirachi and Metagross are both decent Stealth Rock setters that can help with this, and Deoxys-S can provide even more hazards thanks to Spikes at the cost of defensive utility. The former two can also switch into common threats to Indeedee-M, like Scizor and Iron Boulder, and Jirachi can use them to generate momentum with U-turn and get Indeedee-M on the field more easily.

Indeedee-M is an excellent option on Psychic teams due to its ability Psychic Surge, immunity to Ghost-type moves, and useful support arsenal in Encore and Healing Wish. Expanding Force in conjunction with Psychic Surge makes up for Indeedee-M's mediocre Special Attack stat, notably OHKOing Dragapult, the Ogerpon formes, and Mamoswine after minor chip damage. Dazzling Gleam allows Indeedee-M to hit Dark-types such as Roaring Moon, Hydreigon, and Scrafty attempting to switch into Expanding Force. Encore is a great utility option that can deter setup sweepers Indeedee-M can't OHKO like Spectrier, Focus Sash Ceruledge, and Primarina, granting teammates opportunities to switch in and get set up themselves. Healing Wish can give vital teammates such as Hoopa-U and Latios a second chance while also preserving momentum to keep Psychic Terrain going. Terrain Extender is crucial to prolong Psychic Terrain, as the Terrain prevents Ceruledge, Bisharp, and Hisuian Samurott from using their dangerous priority moves. Hatterene is an impeccable teammate for Indeedee-M, as its ability Magic Bounce and Fairy typing allow it to comfortably bounce back entry hazards from Ting-Lu while also offensively threatening Hydreigon, Roaring Moon, and Assault Vest Gallade. In return, Hatterene appreciates Indeedee-M's ability to take on Spectrier and Hisuian Zoroark as well as Psychic Terrain boosting Hatterene's Psyshock. Hoopa-U and Indeedee-M together are capable of terrorizing Ghost-type teams, as Choice Scarf Hoopa-U threatens Flutter Mane, bulky Gholdengo, and Choice Specs Dragapult. Meanwhile, Indeedee-M prevents Ceruledge from using Shadow Sneak, boosts Hoopa-U's Psychic-type coverage to better combat Pecharunt, and further threatens Ghost with Expanding Force. Indeedee-M is Deoxys-S's biggest benefactor, enabling Deoxys-S's own Expanding Force; disabling Sucker Punch from Bisharp, which Deoxys-S removes via Superpower; and providing a switch-in to Choice Scarf Flutter Mane and Dragapult's Shadow Ball. Deoxys-S provides excellent utility, setting up Stealth Rock, Spikes, or dual screens while also removing Dark-types such as the aforementioned Bisharp. Choice Scarf Iron Boulder is a great teammate to have in the Dark matchup, threatening Meowscarada, Greninja, and Darkrai with Close Combat while also removing Fire-types such as Cinderace, Volcarona, and Hisuian Arcanine. Latios greatly aids in the Ground, Flying, and Dragon matchups, removing threats like Landorus, Dragonite, and Archaludon while providing a Ground-type immunity with Levitate. Slowbro can serve as a check to Hisuian Samurott and Bisharp using a combination of Colbur Berry and Body Press, and it also provides status support by burning threats like Excadrill with Scald and paralyzing fast Dark-type foes such as Roaring Moon, Greninja, and Meowscarada via Thunder Wave. Jirachi sets up Stealth Rock and is neutral to Bug-type moves like U-turn from Scizor, which lets it retaliate with Fire Punch. It also offers Wish support to keep Indeedee-M alive longer, prolonging Psychic Terrain for the team. Jirachi heavily appreciates Indeedee-M threatening Mamoswine and Great Tusk as well as cleric support from Healing Wish, as being burned is detrimental for Jirachi.

Indeedee-M's Psychic Surge sets up powerful allies like Psychic Seed Sneasler and Expanding Force Iron Crown. Dazzling Gleam: While generally weak, Dazzling Gleam is the best way to pressure Dark-types like Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon that are immune to Expanding Force. Encore: Encore helps prevent Indeedee-M from getting set up on while also creating openings for its teammates. Shadow Ball: Shadow Ball is almost exclusively for hitting Gholdengo, which can otherwise be troublesome for common Indeedee-M cores. Healing Wish: Healing Wish is used less for its healing and more for its ability to pivot teammates in safely though at the cost of Indeedee-M itself. Terrain Preservation: Targets such as Ice Spinner Urshifu-R and Grassy Surge Rillaboom can remove Indeedee-M's terrain. For this reason, it is sometimes better to lead with a teammate that can scout for these threats. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Low: Common partners like Sneasler tend to be far more Terastallization hungry than Indeedee-M, so it should be preserved outside of fringe cases. Fairy: Tera Fairy turns Indeedee-M's Dark- and Bug-type weaknesses into resistances while giving Dazzling Gleam a nice boost. Psychic: Tera Psychic is a simple offensive option, pushing Expanding Force's power even farther. Stellar: Tera Stellar lets Indeedee-M diversify its offensive profile, such as making it easier to 2HKO semi-bulky Gholdengo with Shadow Ball. EV Spreads 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 Spe with Timid: This bulky EV spread survives Ursaluna-B's Blood Moon and almost always survives Adamant Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash and Adamant Landorus-T's Earthquake. The Speed EVs outspeed Adamant Urshifu formes and Modest Iron Crown. 12 HP / 44 Def / 196 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Timid: This offensive EV spread avoids the OHKO from defensive Landorus-T's Earthquake. It goes less bulky, however, because it wants to be OHKOed by Jolly Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash; this helps secure the most turns of Psychic Terrain possible for teammates.
